Kristine Whitmarsh has recently joined the Banner Environmental team as a Project Coordinator, and in just a short amount of time, she has seamlessly integrated into the fabric of the company. Her responsibilities, vital to the smooth operation of projects, include nurturing and onboarding prospective clients, scheduling jobs for field personnel, managing job estimates, organizing bidding documents, and creating submittals for all projects. Beyond these tasks, Kristine plays a crucial role in supporting the office staff, proving herself to be an invaluable asset to the team. She finds the collaborative and supportive environment at Banner, where everyone is eager to assist and share knowledge, to be the most appealing aspect of her job.
Kristine approaches her new role with a desire to learn and a readiness to ask for help when necessary. Her advice to newcomers in the Environmental Services industry reflects her own journey so far: always be open to asking questions and seeking help. Her swift adaptation and eagerness to learn are commendable, especially considering her relatively short time with the company. Kristine credits her drive and success to her family, particularly her twins, who inspire her to demonstrate that gender is no barrier to achieving one’s goals.
Outside of her professional life, Kristine is devoted to her family, particularly her twins, whose sports endeavors she passionately supports. Her son’s soccer games and her daughter’s volleyball matches are not just pastimes but a source of immense pride and joy for her. These moments on the sidelines, watching her children live their dreams, are absolute highlights for Kristine. She cherishes family time, especially trips to Cape Cod’s beautiful beaches. She dreams of taking her family on a cruise to the western Caribbean, envisioning it as the perfect blend of adventure and family bonding. Kristine’s life, both at Banner and home, is a beautiful tapestry of dedication, learning, and familial love

When did you start working at Banner Environmental Services?
What do you like about Banner Environmental and the Environmental Services Industry?
My favorite aspect about Banner is that everyone is here to help and willing to train and teach you what you need help with. They all work as a team here in the office with everyone helping everyone.
What is your toughest challenge at work?
I have not had any challenges at the office yet. I have been here only three weeks and have not encountered any just yet.
What’s your best career advice?
My advice is to ask questions when you do not know what is being asked. From only being here as long as I have everyone has help or tried to point me in the direction of who would be the person to contact for help.
Who inspires you?
Between myself and my family I am were I am today because of them. I am a mom of twins, a boy and a girl that have made me a better person to show them that it doesn’t matter if you are a man or a women when you put your mind to something you will get it accomplished.
What do most people not know about you?
I am a very easy going person.
What do you like to do for fun?
I am a mom of Twins a boy and a girl. My son plays goalie for MLS Next Club Soccer that I love sitting on the sideline watching him play and live his dream. He loves to play and be part of a team. My daughter is the Libero for Volleyball Varsity Team for high school and her club team. She is the one on the court that wears the different color shirt. I love watching her fly all over the court saving the ball.
My kids are my life we love to spend time at Cape Cod at the beach with my big family.
What’s on your bucket list?
One of the biggest thing on my bucket list to do is to take my family on a cruise to the western part of the Caribbean.
What accomplishment are you most proud of (inside or outside of Banner)?
My greatest accomplishment is proving to others that no matter how old or how young you are once you put your mind to something you can do it. An example is when I was hired as an administrative assistant back in 1996 at Beacon Construction (now Skanska Construction) my old boss saw potential in me and sent me to school at night for three years to get my Construction Management degree at Northeastern University. I got all A’s in all my courses that I took. This is where I learned how to read drawings do take offs and basically learned the ins and out of construction.
