Banner Environmental Services is seeking an experienced Asbestos Supervisor to lead abatement projects and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Maine & Vermont. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing field operations, managing work crews, and maintaining the highest safety standards on commercial, educational, healthcare, municipal, and residential projects. This position requires a safety-focused, detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and comprehensive knowledge of asbestos abatement procedures and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and direct asbestos abatement crews on jobsites throughout New England.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OSHA, EPA, and state regulations
- Conduct pre-work inspections and establish proper containment areas and negative air systems
- Monitor air sampling procedures and coordinate with third-party monitoring consultants
- Maintain detailed project documentation including daily logs, waste manifests, and regulatory forms
- Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular safety meetings with crew members
- Coordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, and waste disposal scheduling
- Communicate project status and any issues to project managers and clients
- Train and mentor junior technicians on proper abatement techniques and safety procedures
- Conduct quality control inspections throughout project lifecycle
- Ensure proper decontamination procedures and final clearance requirements are met
- Respond to emergency situations and implement corrective actions as needed
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid Massachusetts or Rhode Island Asbestos Supervisor License – required
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation – required
- OSHA-10 Certification – preferred
- Current asbestos physical examination – preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in asbestos abatement operations
- Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local asbestos regulations
- Strong leadership and crew management skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents and specifications
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to work in confined spaces, wear respiratory protection, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to travel to jobsites throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island
- Results-oriented with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
