Banner Environmental Services is seeking dedicated Asbestos Workers to perform safe and compliant asbestos abatement activities on commercial, educational, healthcare, municipal, and residential projects throughout New England. Massachusetts and Rhode Island & New Hapshire. The ideal candidate will work as part of a team under direct supervision to remove asbestos-containing materials while strictly adhering to all federal, state, and local safety regulations. This position requires a safety-conscious, reliable individual with attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures in a regulated work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform asbestos removal and abatement work under direct supervision of certified Asbestos Supervisor
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Set up and maintain containment areas, negative air systems, and decontamination units
- Remove asbestos-containing materials using approved wet methods and hand tools
- Package and label asbestos waste materials according to regulatory requirements
- Assist with air monitoring procedures and support third-party consultants as directed
- Maintain clean and organized work areas throughout project duration
- Complete daily decontamination procedures and equipment cleaning
- Participate in daily safety meetings and toolbox talks
- Report safety concerns, equipment issues, or procedural violations to supervisor immediately
- Assist with material handling, equipment transport, and jobsite setup/breakdown
- Follow all company policies and maintain professional conduct on client sites
Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid Massachusetts or Rhode Island Asbestos Worker License – required
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation – required
- OSHA-10 Certification – preferred
- Current asbestos physical examination – preferred
- Previous experience in construction, demolition, or environmental services – preferred
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety protocols
- Physical ability to work in confined spaces, wear full respiratory protection for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions and challenging environments
- Willingness to travel to jobsites throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Team-oriented with positive attitude and strong communication skills
