Banner Environmental Services is seeking a strategic Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Assessment and Planning: Conducting thorough evaluations to determine the best  demolition/abatement method, identifying potential risks, and preparing mitigation strategies.  Collaborating with Banner PM/EH&S and other professionals to create detailed demolition/Abatement  plans.
  • Safety Protocols: Coordinating with EH&S to ensure implementing and monitoring strict safety  measures for workers and the public, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations, and preparing  emergency response plans.
  • Team Leadership and Coordination: Leading and directing on-site demolition/abatement crews, ensuring  seamless communication with project managers, and coordinating activities to maintain project  schedules and budgets.
  • Equipment Management: Work with the Warehouse Manager to ensuring the appropriate tools and  equipment are available and properly maintained for each project.
  • Execution and Monitoring: Overseeing the abatement/demolition process, whether it involves manual  labor, operating heavy machinery, or using controlled demolitions with specialized teams. Continuously monitoring progress, safety, and environmental impact, and making adjustments as needed.
  • Debris Management and Site Clearance: Working with PMs and supervising the removal and proper  disposal of debris and ensuring the site is cleared for subsequent abatement/construction activities.  Ensure disposal is separated as regulated/appropriate for recycling.
  • Environmental Compliance: Managing hazardous materials according to environmental protection  standards (State & Local) and implementing dust control measures. This includes safely removing and disposing of asbestos and lead paint.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Work with Project Coordinators to maintain accurate records of the  abatement/demolition process, including incidents and material disposal, and preparing reports for  regulatory bodies and clients.
  • Hazardous Material Abatement: Facilitating the safe removal of asbestos and lead-based paint, ensuring  compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Budget Management: Developing and managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring  efficient operations within financial constraints.
  • Problem-Solving: Being able to address unexpected challenges, such as encountering hidden hazards or  dealing with unforeseen structural elements implementing change orders as appropriate. ∙ Collaborate with Payroll on a weekly basis to compile a detailed list of job assignments for each  employee and independent contractor, including shop activities and hours worked.
  • Provide guidance to field supervisors on proper use of the Foundation time clock system and Builder  Trend Project Management System.

Essential Skills:

  • Technical Knowledge: A strong understanding of abatement BMP and construction and demolition  techniques.
  • Safety Awareness: Expertise in health and safety regulations, including OSHA requirements. ∙ Project Management: The ability to plan, coordinate, and oversee projects from beginning to end. ∙ Communication and Leadership: Effective communication and leadership skills to manage teams and  interact with stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: The ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and efficiently. ∙ Attention to Detail: Ensuring that all tasks are completed accurately and in accordance with  specifications and regulation
